Dr. Mohammad Faisal is a board-certified gastroenterologist and a Fellow of The American College of Gastroenterology. He has been providing gastroenterology services to the rural communities of North Florida for 35 years. He graduated summa cum laude from Brandeis University, MA. and obtained his M.D. degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, NY. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at Columbia University affiliated hospitals in New York. Longing for warmer weather, Dr. Faisal moved to Florida and started his gastroenterology private practice in Lake City in 1990. He established gastroenterology services at the two local hospitals, Lake City Medical Center and at Shands at Lakeshore Hospital. He was the Chief of Staff at both these hospitals. He was a member of Shands Healthcare Quality Board and a member of The Joint Commission’s Ambulatory Surgery Advisory Council. He was also the Director of North Florida Surgery Center. Dr. Faisal is involved with community charity work. He founded the Faisal Family Media Center at Oak Hall School, in Gainesville, FL and endowed the Dr. Mohammad Faisal Alumni Scholarship at his alma mater, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Faisal enjoys soccer, fishing and traveling with his wife, Kazi, and four children.
